The South Atlantic Conference Announces Softball Championship MVP and All-Tournament Team
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman's Lacie Rinus was tabbed the 2017 South Atlantic Conference Softball Championship MVP as voted by the tournament participant head coaches, the League announced today. The panel also selected an 11 member All-Tournament Team.
Rinus, a freshman from Murfreesboro, Tenn., posted four complete game wins to lead Carson-Newman to the 2017 South Atlantic Conference Softball Championship crown. She pitched 27 innings and struck out 28 hitters. She posted a 1.56 ERA in her tournament starts as her opponents hit just .165 in her outings.
Carson-Newman led the way with four players on the All-Tournament Team, followed by Coker and Newberry who placed two players to the team. Wingate, Tusculum and Lenoir-Rhyne finished out the team with one selection each. Below is a look at the 2017 South Atlantic Conference Softball Championship All-Tournament Team.
