Catawba Earns SAC Athletic Training Staff of the Year Honors
Catawba College’s sports medicine staff, under the direction of head trainer Bob Casmus, has been selected as the 2012-13 SAC Athletic Training Staff of the Year, it was announced at the group’s annual meeting on Saturday.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Catawba College's sports medicine staff, under the direction of head trainer Bob Casmus, has been selected as the 2012-13 SAC Athletic Training Staff of the Year, it was announced at the group's annual meeting on Saturday.
The award is voted on by the head athletic trainer at each SAC member institution. This is the fourth time Catawba has received the distinction.
"Catawba's athletic training staff provides outstanding care not just for its own student-athletes, but at many of our conference championships as well," said SAC Commissioner Patrick Britz. "With the well-being of student-athletes being paramount in this conference, we're pleased to recognize Catawba for their efforts."
In addition to providing medical care for student-athletes, Catawba's athletic training staff coordinates the annual SAC football officials medical review and preseason conditioning test.
"This award speaks well of the dedication and diligence of the Catawba College athletic training staff to provide outstanding health care service not only to our Catawba athletes, but also in how we care for visiting teams and take on responsibilities for SAC tournaments," said Casmus.
Additional members of the Catawba athletic training staff include assistant athletic trainers Mike Eden, M.S., ATC, Brandon Auton, M.S., ATC and Leslie Dent, M.S., ATC.
