Wingate Crowned National Runner Up at National Cross Country Meet
SACRAMENTO, CALIF. -- The Wingate Men's Cross Country team narrowly missed its chance to repeat as National Champions as the Bulldogs came in second after winning it all last year. The Bulldogs team score of 66 was just behind Colorado School of Mines who posted a team score of 63.
Wingate was led by Hamza Chahid who finished sixth overall with a time of 29:49.2 on the 10k course. However, Mines went 7-8-9 overall while the Bulldogs went 6-11-15 from the top three. Coming in 11th was Titouan Le Grix in a time of 29:55.6 and Lukas Ehrle came in 15th.
Anderson came in 31st out of 34 teams at the national meet and were led by Elliot Dotson in 93rd with a time of 31:17.9.
Jacob Parkinson competed as an individual from Lenoir-Rhyne and was 65th out of 262 racers on the day.
