Catawba's Relay Team and E&H's Lee Honored as SAC WePlayed Sports Men's Outdoor T&F Athletes of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for meets contested during the first week of competition. Catawba's 4x100 Relay Team earned the track honor while Emory & Henry's Gavin Lee earned the field honor.

The relay team, consisting of Brendan Henby, Miles Stephens, Darius Turner and Winfred Porter took first place at the Charlotte 49er Classic on Saturday, topping host Charlotte and setting the fastest time in Division II with a school-record time of 40.03.

Lee, a junior thrower from North Tazewell, Va., set the school record in the hammer with a throw of 56.45 meters to win the Mountaineer First Chance. He was also second in the discus at 45.47 meters.
