Wingate Earns Top Spot in 2023-24 SAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Preseason Poll

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The Wingate Bulldogs have been picked as the 2023-24 preseason favorite according to the Preseason Coaches' Poll, released today (December 4).

The Bulldogs received 11 first-place votes and 143 points in the preseason poll.

Lenoir-Rhyne earned the second spot with two first-place votes and 133 points, while Carson-Newman placed third with 120 points followed by Catawba at No. 4 with 106 points.

Limestone came in at No. 5 with 102 points, followed by Anderson at No. 6 with 84 points and Tusculum at No. 7 with 80 points. Newberry took the eighth slot with 66 points.

Emory & Henry landed at No. 9 in the poll with 52 points, while Lincoln Memorial took the No. 10 spot with 46 points. Rounding out the poll at No. 11, No. 12, and No. 13 was Mars Hill with 35 points, Coker with 24 points, and UVA Wise with 15 points.

In addition to the preseason poll, the SAC also released the Indoor Track & Field Athletes to Watch list. This list includes the top athletes from each school to keep an eye on during the 2023-24 indoor track & field season. The full list of athletes to watch is listed below by team.

The 2023-24 Indoor Track & Field season began this weekend and will continue until the 2023 SAC Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. Feb. 24-25.
