Morrison Advances to Championship Heat, De Sousa 11th in 60m Nationals
INDIANAPOLIS – The Carson-Newman sprinters performed well on day one of the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships, sending one to Saturday's championship heat.
Andre Morrison (St. Catherine, Jamaica) punched his ticket to the men's 60-meter final on Saturday, March 15 at 2:55 p.m. with the second-best preliminary time in the first round of the national meet.
Morrison, who set the Carson-Newman program record twice this season, set a time of 6.65 at the national prelims in heat one of the competition. The time was enough to win his heat, automatically qualifying for the final.

Hart places ninth in 60 meters at NCAA Championship
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Tusculum University junior Jahzara Hart finished ninth in the women's 60-meter dash on the opening day of the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championship on Thursday.
Competing in the second of three heats, Hart ran 7.44 seconds and placed third in her heat, but did not advance out of the field of 18 runners into Saturday's finals. Her time was tied for her third-fastest of the season.

Alexis Brown ties her own DII Championships record in 60m prelims
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Alexis Brown is in prime form right now, as she won her 60m heat at the NCAA DII Indoor Championships with a time of 7.18. That time ties her own DII Championship record she set in last year's final. It also ranks her second all-time in DII history, just behind Missouri Southern State's Joy Udo-Gabriel's time of 7.13 set earlier this year.
Saint-Peyre, Laros are first team AA; 'Dogs have two qualify for mile run finals
Indianapolis, Ind.----Both Wingate University indoor track and field teams entered the 2025 NCAA Division II indoor national championship meet inside the top 25 for the first time in school history. The No. 4 Bulldog men and the No. 25 WU women did not disappoint their followers on day one of the NCAA Division II indoor national championship meet Thursday.

Porter and Stephens both punch ticket to NCAA 60m dash finals
Indianapolis, Ind. —- Catawba College men's indoor track and field sprinter Winfred Porter and Miles Stephens both earned a top-eight finish in the preliminaries of the 60 meter dash on Thursday at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships, earning them a spot for a national title on Saturday in the championship final.
