The SAC Announces WePlayed Sports Men's Tennis Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman's Leonard Baecker has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played during week eight of the 2025 season, the Conference announced today.

Baecker, a freshman from Pliezhausen, Germany, led Carson-Newman with a perfect 3-0 mark in singles play. Baecker started his week with a 6-2, 62 win over a nationally ranked opponent in Purdue Northwestern who came in at No. 21 in the nation. He added SAC wins over Tusculum and Coker as the Eagles grabbed wins in both matches. His play has helped Carson-Newman move up to No. 48 in the national rankings.
