The South Atlantic Conference Announces WePlayed Sports Swimmers of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Swimmers of the Week for meets competed in during the fourth week of the 2024 season. Wingate's Marta Beesmans Barquero was named the Women's Swimmer of the Week while Wingate's Manoel Silva was named the Men's Swimmer of the Week.

Beesmans Barquero secured three victories as Wingate defeated Lenoir-Rhyne 156-84. The senior finished first in the 100 Backstroke (57.15) and the 200 Backstroke (2;03.19). The Spain native also swam in the 200 Medley Relay and finished first in 1:46.26.

Silva collected three first-place finishes in the Bulldog's 153-98 win over Lenoir-Rhyne. The sophomore took first in the 100 Freestyle (45.50) and the 50 Free (20.57). The Brazil native was also a part of the 200 Medley Relay that took first with 1:31.90.
