Plougmand Named Ron Lenz National Player of the Year; Four D2CCA Named All-Americans
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Four South Atlantic Conference student-athletes have been named D2 CCA All-Americans led by Mars Hill's Peter Plougmand who was announced as the Ron Lenz National Player of the Year.
Plougmand, a native of Odense, Denmark, led the Lions to their first NCAA tournament appearance since 2012 before bowing out in the second round to the #1 seeded Limestone Saints.
As the 2024 D2CCA Southeast and South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, Plougmand was a driving force for the Lions this season. He led Division II with 25 goals and 56 points this season along with goals per game (1.39) and points per game (3.11).
Plougmand tallied 55.5% of the Mars Hill scoring this season as he had one game with four goals scored (tying the MHU school record) and four games with three goals. Overall in 18 games, he compiled seven games with multiple goals.
Limestone's F Mark Radoki and GK Nikolaj Berelsen were named Third Team All-Americans along with Coker's D Matty Tricker.
