Three SAC Men's Soccer Programs Announced in 2024 NCAA Tournament Field
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Three South Atlantic Conference teams were announced as part of the 2024 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Tournament field as announced by the NCAA this evening. Limestone leads the way as the region's No. 1 seed.
The Saints, who just won their second straight SAC Tournament title, claimed the 1-seed. The Saints finished the year with a 14-1-3 record and topped Lenoir-Rhyne by a final score of 5-2 in the championship match yesterday.
Coker garnered the No. 3 seed on the strength of a 14-2-1 record. The Cobras just saw a 13-match unbeaten streak come to an end in the SAC Tournament Semifinal with a 2-1 overtime loss to Lenoir-Rhyne. Coker will take on No. 6 seed Auburn Montgomery.
Mars Hill is the final SAC program in the field as they earned the No. 8 seed. The Lions went 10-3-4 and have one of the nation's top goal scorers in Peter Plougmand. Mars Hill will host the 8/9 game against Francis Marion. The winner of that match will take on top seed Limestone on the campus of Mars Hill.
