Coker Remains The No. 1 Team in the Region; Three SAC Teams Appear
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) -- The NCAA announced the final round of Regional Rankings for men's soccer this afternoon. The NCAA Selection Show will take place on Monday on NCAA.com at 6:30 p.m.
Coker remains in the top spot in the regional rankings as they own a 14-1-1 overall mark and are 10-1-1 in South Atlantic Conference play. The Cobras earned the No. 2 seed and a share of their first SAC Regular Season Conference Title in program history. They will take on Lenoir-Rhyne on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the SAC Semifinals.
Limestone remains at No. 4 in the rankings. Limestone shared the SAC Regular Season title with Coker and earned the No. 1 seed. They lead the nation in least goals allowed per game and have advanced to the SAC Semifinal to play Mars Hill at 11 a.m. on Friday.
Mars Hill made a huge jump, going from No. 12 to No. 6 in this weeks rankings. Mars Hill beat Tusculum and tied Limestone to close the regular season and then defeated Lincoln Memorial in the SAC Quarterfinals. They have been unbeaten in nine straight matches.
The regional rankings are what the NCAA uses to select the NCAA Tournament field.
