Limestone's Roeb and Tusculum's Evans Earn Final SAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week Honor

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Men's Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during week nine of the 2024 season. Tusculum's David Evans was named the Offensive Player of the Week while Limestone's Stefan Roeb earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Evans, a senior from Johnson City, Tenn., recorded his first career two-goal match on Senior Night as the Pioneers beat Carson-Newman 3-1 to deny the Eagles a berth in the SAC Men's Soccer Championship tournament. Evans scored in the 62nd minute from a sharp angle to open the scoring, then added his second in the 71st minute for insurance.

Roeb, a graduate student from Konigswinter, Germany, helped the Saints clinch the No. 1 seed in the SAC Tournament with a season-ending tie at Mars Hill. Roeb had an assist in the match and took three shots as Limestone finished the regular season with a 10-1-1 mark in conference play and 12-1-3 overall as they head into this weekend's SAC Tournament Semifinal. This is the second weekly award for Roeb as he won on Oct. 1.
