Trio of Men's Soccer Teams in USC Top 25
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference boasts three teams in the top 21 of the men's soccer national rankings as the USC National Poll was released. This was the seventh poll of the season.
Limestone moved up one spot from No. 5 to No. 4 held which is the highest ranking this season for Limestone. The Saints moved to 10-0-2 on the season and 8-0 in the SAC with a pair of clean sheets last week. Limestone won at Anderson on Wednesday by a score of 1-0 and at home against Tusculum on Saturday by a final of 2-0.
Coker comes in at No. 8 in this week's rankings, also the highest ranking on the season for the Cobras. The Cobras have won nine straight and are 11-1 on the season and 7-1 in the SAC. Coker beat Newberry 3-0 on Wednesday and Anderson 1-0 on Saturday. The only loss of the season came against Limestone on Sept. 14 by a final of 1-0.
Entering the rankings for the first time since the first poll is Lincoln Memorial who comes in at No. 21. The Railsplitters are 7-2-3 overall and 4-2-2 in the SAC and have been unbeaten in their last five matches. Last week, they defeated Carson-Newman on the road 2-1 and tied Mars Hill 1-1.
