SAC WePlayed Sports Men's Soccer Players of the Week Announced

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Men's Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during week one of the 2024 season. Mars Hill's Peter Plougmand was named the Offensive Player of the Week while Wingate's Moritz Conrad brought home Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Plougmand, a senior from Odense, Denmark, led Mars Hill to a 2-0 week with wins over King and Mount Olive. He scored each of the teams two goals in the season opening win over King and added a goal and an assist in the win over the Trojans. For the week, he totaled seven points and had one game-winning goal.

Conrad, a freshman from Berlin, Germany, piled up nine saves on the week, allowing just one goal to lead #20 Wingate to a pair of impressive wins on opening week. His week was highlighted by registering six saves in the shutout against #3 Florida Tech on Sunday. He also collected 3 saves in the victory at Rollins Friday night.
