Coker 8th; Wingate 16th After Day One of NCAA Men's Golf Championships

Winter Garden, Fla. -- After one day of the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships, Coker sits in eighth place with Wingate in 16th in the 20-team field. Coker fired a 283 (-1) as a team while Wingate shot 290 (+6) at the par-71, 7,419-yard course.
Coker's 283 was led by a 68 (-3) by Jonathan Hallinger. Hallinger fired six birdies on the day and sits in a seventh-place tie after 18 holes. Killian Ryan carded a 70 on the day and Derek McLaughlin shot a 72. The Cobras are one shot behind seventh-place North Georgia.
Wingate is eight spots behind Coker but just two shots out of 10th place. Each of Wingate's players shot between a 72 and 74 on the day.
Coker will tee off a 9:20 tomorrow morning, while Wingate will go out at 1 p.m.
