Coker Continues to Lead After Day Two of SAC Championships
ROCK HILL, S.C. (thesac.com) -- The Coker Cobras continue to lead the field after day two of the 2024 South Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Championship hosted at the Country Club of Orangeburg in Orangeburg, S.C. The Cobras shot a 284 on day two as Lincoln Memorial shaved four strokes off the lead. The Cobras have a total of 572 after the first two days (+12) while LMU is three shots off the lead at 575 (+15). Coker teammates Caleb Tidd and Jonathan Hallinger both sit at 140 (E) as they battle for the individual medalist.
Trailing Coker and LMU are three teams tied for third place. Carson-Newman, Anderson and Lenoir-Rhyne are all at 582 (+22) after two days of competition. Tusculum (588, +28) and Newbery (590, +30) sit in sixth and seventh place respectively. Following those two sits Wingate (591, +31) in eighth place and Limestone (593, +33) in ninth. Rounding out the top 10 is Catawba (610, +50) who sit in front of UVA Wise (639, +79), Emory & Henry (661, +101) and Mars Hill (678, +118).
Tidd and Hallinger are just one shot ahead of SAC Player of the Year George Durkan from Lincoln Memorial who had a 141 (+1). Limestone's Kristoffer Larsson is tied with Durkan after Larsson fired a 67 on day two to improve his score by seven shots from the first day.
