Wingate's McLaughlin and Dutton Named South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Men's and Women's Golfers of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's Hailey McLaughlin was named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women's Golfer of the Week and Wingate's Colin Dutton was named the SAC WePlayed Sports Men's Golfer of the Week for events played during weeks five and six of the 2024 spring season, the Conference office announced today.

McLaughlin, a graduate student from Markham, Ontario, Canada, led the Bulldogs to a first place finish at the Surratt Memorial Intercollegiate and took home medalist honors individually. She carded rounds of 71, 72, and 71 finishing the tournament with a 71.33 stroke average. This is McLaughlin's second individual title this spring.

Dutton, a junior from Firefox, N.C., fired a nine-under-par, three round total of 207 to earn a top-10 finish individually while leading the Bulldogs to a top-five finish as a team at the Bearcat Golf Classic. Dutton shot rounds of 77, 64, and 66 with his round of 64 setting a new program record for low 18-holes at Wingate.

The bi-monthly award is awarded to the top golfer in the SAC based on their results from the previous two weeks of play.
