Lenoir-Rhyne's Jackson Named D2Football National Defensive Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –Lenoir-Rhyne defensive back Eric Jackson was named the D2Football.com National Defensive Player of the Week for his outstanding play during week four of the 2019 season, it was announced on Tuesday (Oct. 1).
Jackson, a junior from Charleston, S.C., helped lead the Bears to a 56-28 win over Mars Hill in conference action last week. He made three interceptions in the final 22 minutes of play to secure the Bear victory. In addition to his three picks, Jackson had 10 tackles. He becomes the first Bear to have three interceptions in a game since 2013.
Jackson was also named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Defensive Player of the Week and his three interceptions were featured on NCAA.com's Top-10 DII Football Plays of the Week, https://www.ncaa.com/video/football/2019-10-01/dii-football-top-plays-week-5
