HARROGATE, Tenn. - The Coker University volleyball team dropped its South Atlantic Conference match at Lincoln Memorial by a score of 3-0 on Saturday (Oct. 19). 

Lincoln Memorial opened the match by taking the first set 25-8 for a 1-0 lead. The Cobras jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the opening set, before LMU would win five straight points to go up 5-3. LMU would continue its run and eventually go up 10-5, before running away with the set from there. 

Lincoln Memorial would take a 2-0 lead with a 25-23 victory in the second set. LMU got out to a 4-0 lead in the second set, before growing its lead eventually to 12-5 and then 14-7. The two teams battled back and forth through the set, but Lincoln Memorial was able to keep Coker at a distance going ahead 20-14 at one point. Coker would storm back with a 7-4 run to force a Lincoln Memorial timeout, before LMU would finish off the set from there. 

The Railsplitters would polish off the match, winning the third set by an identical score of 25-23. The Cobras streaked out to a 9-4 lead in the third set to force a Lincoln Memorial timeout, before LMU would come back to take a 12-11 lead and force a Coker timeout. Lincoln Memorial would hold its lead later into the set, getting Coker to call its second timeout at 17-14. The Cobras would come back with a 7-2 run to go ahead 21-19 and force LMU's second timeout. The two teams battled from there to a 22-22 tie, before Lincoln Memorial would finish off the set and the match. 

 Coker hit .112 in the match, totaling 30 kills. Emily Everton led the Cobras with 11 kills on the afternoon, while Taylor du Bray also posted seven kills. Alexis Kopicki also contributed five kills, while Chelsey Blume added three kills and Payton Jackson also chipped in two. Olivia Cerick and Sierra Harvey each recorded one kill in the match. Ashley Carson paced the Cobras with 16 assists, while Rami Mullen added five. Gabrielle Milo also posted four assists, while du Bray also had one. Du Bray led Coker with 12 digs on the afternoon, while Milo also contributed 10 digs. Carson also had six digs, while Kopicki also posted four. Everton, Cerick and Mullen each had three digs, while Jackson and Harvey each chipped in one. Du Bray led the blocking effort with seven total blocks on the afternoon, while Harvey also had six. Blume posted three total blocks on the afternoon, while Everton and Carson each had one contribution in the blocking effort. 

Coker is back on the floor on Tuesday (Oct. 22) when the Cobras host No. 22 Wingate at the DeLoach Center. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
