How It Happened:
Game 1: Moore had herself a game in Game 1, driving in both runs of the ballgame for the Cobras. She opened up the scoring with a single up the middle to score Slack in the top of the second to take a 1-0 lead. After Converse took a 2-1 lead, she singled again in the top of the sixth to score Lacey Hennessy to tie this one at 2-2. After the Valkyries scored in the bottom of the inning and the Cobras were unable to answer in the top of the seventh, Converse walked away with a 3-2 win in the first contest.
Game 2: A hot start for the Cobras started in the top of the first as they took a 2-0 lead off Ariana Fair scoring off a wild pitch and a Slack single to score Gaskins. Converse got one back, but a six-run top of the second truly separated the two teams, punctuated by a Gaskins three-run homer. The scoring wasn't done there, as Andrews hit a two-RBI single to score Gaskins and Cribbs to take a 10-1 lead in the top of the third. The top of the fourth was just as run-filled as the second, as the Cobras took a 16-1 lead following six runs in the inning.
Notables
- Gaskins got it done on both sides of the ball, only allowing one run in the circle and recording a 4-4 day from the plate
- This is the most runs scored in a game since last year's Game 2 against Shaw on February 21, 2024, where the Cobras recorded an 18-4 victory
