
Cobras Defeats Mount Olive, Goes 2-0 In Embry-Riddle Tournament
Landon Buttler poured in a team and career high 22 points to lead Coker past Mount Olive.
DAYTONA, FL. - Coker closed out its second game in the Embry-Riddle tournament with a convincing 118-106 win over Mount Olive. Landon Butler scored a career high 22 points, while Coker used a balanced scoring attack to take donw the Trojans.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
After falling down early in Friday's contest, the Cobras came out in Saturday's matchup with Mount Olive with a different plan. The Cobras jumped out to an early 13-2 lead as Judson Coan led the way early on. Coker continued to extend their lead, holding a 21-12 lead with a little more than 12 minutes in the first half remaining. Mount Olive who found themselves down by as many as 11 in the first half, went on a 9-0 run to bring the game within two late in the first half. The teams then traded baskets the remainder of the half, and it was Coker holding a 58-55 lead at the break. Glenn Bynum Jr. led the way for Coker in the first frame scoring 12 points, while Landon Butler added 7 with 3 assists. Coker assited on 15 of the team's 22 field goals in the first half, while shooting 43.1% from the field.
In the second half, the Trojans came out hot, taking the lead just four minutes in. After a Coker timeout, the Cobras and Trojans began trading baskets over the course of the next six minutes. With a little over 11 minutes remaining, Coker took the lead on a Butler layup, sparking a Cobra run. With eight minutes remaining, Coker had extended its lead up to 103-90, and never looked back over the course of the game. When the final horn rang, it was Coker leaving Daytona with a 2-0 record after taking down Mount Olive 118-106. Butler carried his hot start in the first into the second pouring in an additonal 15 points in the final 20 minutes. Max Hurray added 10 points in the second half, while Sebasitan Cole netted 9.
On the night, Coker shot 46.8% from the field on the night, while shooting 31.7% from behind the arc netting 13 attempts. Coker assisted on 26 field, and outrebounded Mount Olive 47-42. Butler poured in 22 points on the night, but it was a team effort for Coker, as they had 6 players score over 10 points. Coan led the Cobras again in rebounds with 8 on the night, while Cole and Hurray swiped 3 steals each.
