MARS HILL, N.C. – The Mars Hill baseball team (8-21, 3-10 SAC) was defeated by Tusculum (9-18, 4-9 SAC) by a score of 8–0, Friday afternoon at Henderson Field in South Atlantic Conference play.
The Lions held the Pioneers to just one run through six innings before Tusculum pulled away late with seven runs over the final three frames.
Dylan Vega turned in a solid start on the mound, going 7.0 innings while allowing just three earned runs and striking out three. Offensively, the Lions were led by hits from Elec Yount, Jackson Jones, and Carter Potts, who recorded a double.
The Lions return to action on Saturday, March 22 when they close out the series with a doubleheader slated for a 12 p.m. start.
