
Cobras Extend Win Streak, Take Down Mars Hill
Judson Coan pours in career high 34 points, Coker extends win streak to 7.
Hartsville, SC. - Judson Coan poured in 34 points, adds 15 rebounds, as Coker moves to 7-0 on the season. The Cobras are now 5-0 in conference play, as they extend their best start in school history.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Coker jumped out to an early first half lead thanks to junior, Judson Coan. The Cobras constantly found Coan time and time again early in the night as he poured in 18 of his career high 34 points in the first frame. After the first 10 minutes, Coker held a 31-14 lead. Turning Mars Hill over with their full court pressure proved to be a big key in the first half for Coker. Mars Hill was forced into 14 first half turnovers. Coan, Sebastian Cole, and Glenn Bynum Jr. all recorded two or more steals in the first half. The remaining 10 minutes, Coker continued to extend their lead, which grew to 59-33 at the half. Coker shot 51% from the field in the first half while assisting on 12 of their baskets.
In the second half the Cobras continued where they left off, growing their lead to the largest it had been 1 minute into the second half. Mars Hill wouldn't go away easily in the second half. Dinari Boykin put constant pressure on the Cobras defense attacking the basket, helping the Lions claw back into it. With a little over eight minutes remaining, the Lions had cut the Coker lead down to 12 at 81-69. From there, Coker extended its lead back out thanks to Ian Blue, Logan Murray, and Judson Coan baskets to pull away with a little over six minutes remaining. Coker pushed its lead out to 14 with three minutes remaining, wrapping up their seventh straight win.
The Cobras shot 43% from the field on the night, while assisting on 18 shots. They made 26 of their 32 free throws (81.3%) which ultimately proved to be the difference on the night. Coker, who leads the nation in bench points, added 42 tonight from that area. Coker continues to improve on their best start in school history as they have now won all five of their conference games, which gives them a one game lead on Lincoln Memorial. The Cobras have continued to force teams into turnovers with their rampant pressure on defesne which allowed them to pickup 28 fast break points tonight.
