The Mars Hill women's lacrosse team (4-0) won their fourth straight with a 17-6 rout of Lees-McRae (0-5) Tuesday night on the road.

BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's lacrosse team (4-0) won their fourth straight with a 17-6 rout of Lees-McRae (0-5) Tuesday night on the road.
The teams were tied at two entering the second quarter. Goals from Alexa Tazzetta and Kiersten Foust to open the second, their second goals of the game respectively, gave the Lions a 4-2 lead. Mars Hill would not look back as they continued to add to their totals.
A dominating second half saw Mars Hill outscore the Bobcats 10-1, holding Lees-McRae scoreless in the third frame while scoring five. Haley Stallings completed her hat-trick in the third, netting the Lions' 10th and 11th goals of the night.
The trio of Tazzetta (4g, 1a), Foust (4g, 1a), and Maria Fabrizio (3g, 2a) each recorded five points on the night. Stallings added three while Samantha Newton (1g, 1a) recorded two.
Lauren Bryner and Rebeca Sanchez split time between the pipes with Sanchez picking up her first win of the season, making five saves.
Mars Hill opens South Atlantic Conference play on Saturday, March 5 when they face Tusculum on the road. First draw control is set for 1 p.m.
