
Lions felled by Trojans on road
The Mars Hill volleyball team (10-4, 2-3 SAC) was defeated 3-1 (12-25, 25-19, 19-25, 14-25) by Anderson (8-4, 3-1 SAC) Saturday afternoon on the road.
ANDERSON, S.C. - The Mars Hill volleyball team (10-4, 2-3 SAC) was defeated 3-1 (12-25, 25-19, 19-25, 14-25) by Anderson (8-4, 3-1 SAC) Saturday afternoon on the road.
Entering the third set tied at one set apiece, the teams were tied at 12-all. Anderson reeled off five straight points, but Mars Hill made a late push, bringing it back to 21-19 before the Trojans strung together the final four points of the set to go up 2-1.
In the fourth, with the score tied at 10, Anderson went on a 7-0 run that changed the momentum of the set as Regan Duty recorded three kills in that span.
Anderson hit a dominant .429 in the first set to set the tone for their offense on the day. The Trojans knocked down 63 kills and hit .245 throughout the four sets. Duty, Madison Roy, and Lilliana Kinder all hit over .400 for Anderson.
