Softball Drops Doubleheader Against Anderson on Senior Day

Hartsville, SC. – Coker played against Anderson in a doubleheader Saturday afternoon. The Cobras look to finish the season strong as they took on the Trojans on in a South Atlantic Conference two-game series. Coker University Athletics recognizes the seniors Kayla Oswell, Brooklyn Stuenness, Bailey Hulick, Mackenzie Harmon, Chloe Pelham, Jenae Fedewa, and Hannah Fisher.

 

Game 1 L (17-6)-

The Trojans jumped to an early lead in the game and never looked back. Led by their pitching Anderson combined for 17 runs and took game 1 in five innings. The Cobras scored 6 runs against the Trojans. Coker finished the game with six hits, six runs, six RBIs, and six stolen bases. Cameron Jackson, Stueness, Oswell, Pelham, and Harmon all recorded hits for the Cobras. Coker looked to jump back in game 2 after dropping the first one.

 

Game 2 L (10-7) 

The Cobras got things rolling at the bottom of the 1st. Kelsi Scott singled to left field and scored Carter Freeman. Pelham tripled to right scoring Jackson. Kayla Oswell doubled to right field scoring Arianna Fair and Kelsi Scott. Coker put up four runs in the first inning and kept it going. Anderson fought back and tied the game up back to tie the game up at the top of the 4th. Caitlyn Wray came up big for the Cobras as she smacked a double scoring two runs and giving Coker the lead 4-6. Ashton Goodwin reached on a fielder's choice and scored Scott who reached on a throw in the dirt by Anderson's first baseman making 4-7. The Trojans came back and won the game after scoring six runs and taking game two 10-7.
