Tusculum falls at Queens to split Carolina road swing

CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- The Queens University of Charlotte women's volleyball team got double-doubles from four different players in a 3-0 win over visiting Tusculum Saturday afternoon at Curry Arena in South Atlantic Conference action.

The Royals (10-11, 6-4 SAC) complete the season sweep over the Pioneers (3-14, 1-10 SAC) to win by scores of 25-15, 25-22, 25-22.

Chanel Turner led all players with 13 kills to go along with a dozen digs and two blocks.  Casey Tarvin added a double-double of 12 kills and 16 digs, while Jordan Proszenyak tallied 10 kills and 15 digs.  Setter Mallory Swarts finished with 36 assists and 10 digs in the victory.

Tusculum's Carli Pigza led the Pioneers with seven kills and a .400 hitting percentage.  Cassie Born contributed seven kills, while senior libero had 28 digs in the loss.  TU also got 24 assists from setter Alyssa Rojas.

The Royals totaled 45 kills and finished with a .192 hitting percentage, while TU was held to 29 kills and a .106 attack percentage.

The Pioneers complete a 1-1 road trip to North Carolina and return home for Tuesday's South Atlantic Conference battle with in-state foe Lincoln Memorial University beginning at 7 p.m.
