HICKORY, N.C. - The Women's Soccer Team suffered a tough 2-1 loss in double overtime at the hands of Belmont Abbey on Monday night. Morgan Patton scored on a breakaway in the 104th minute to steal a road victory for the Crusaders.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
•   Lenoir-Rhyne junior Judith Verdaguer scored the lone goal of the game for the Bears as her strike in the 25th minute gave the hosts a 1-0 advantage.
•   The Crusaders found a goal in the 40th minute to draw even when the Bears were whistled for a hand ball in the box. Sydney Pluhacek converted the ensuing penalty kick to knot the score.
•  The Bears had a couple good opportunities to grab a win in the first overtime period but Hannah Van Eerden's shot hit the post just 25 seconds into the frame.  Â
•  BAC held a narrow 17-16 advantage in shots and a 10-6 lead in shots on goal. The visitors also took four of the five corner kicks in the contest. Â

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
•   It was the second straight one-goal win for the Crusaders in their head-to-head matchup with LR. A season ago, BAC took a 2-1 victory in Belmont, N.C.
•  Verdaguer's goal was the first in her Lenoir-Rhyne career.
•  The Bears were forced to play without standout senior Abbie Brown who is dealing with an injury. Â
