The Cobras Take on The Wasp in a Wednesday Evening Series

Hartsville, SC- Coker took on Emory and Henry in a South Atlantic Conference (SAC) 2-game series. The Cobras dropped both games but were in the hunt in both games. Coker looked to bounce back from the weekend as they dropped a series against Lenoir-Rhyne.

Game 1 L (6-3)-

The Wasp took the lead early in the top of the 1st taking advantage of the bases loaded and scoring two out of it. Emory & Henry went up 2-0 after the first inning. Hannah Fisher worked out of a jam in the top of the 2nd as she had runners in scoring position but stroke out the batter to get out of the inning. Coker was trailing at the bottom of the 6th 6-0. The Cobras got things rolling as Kayla Oswell smacked one up the middle getting past the center field scoring three runners in Brooklynn Stueness, Hannah Davis, and Ariana Fair. Coker cut into the lead 6-3 but ended up dropping the first game. Fair, Oswell, and Julie Hilliard all collected hits in the first game.

 

Game 2- 

Coker got things cooking early in the game as they put two runs up at the bottom of the 2nd. Cameron Jackson singled into left field scoring Oswell. Davis singled into the gap in right field scoring Jackson. The Cobras went into the 3rd up 2-0.  Coker put another on run the board at the top of the 5th with a single scoring Fair 3-0. The Wasps put four runs of their own on the board and took the lead at the top of the 6th as Jenae Fedewa went through five scoreless innings before letting up four runs. Fedewa finished the game with three strikes. Coker went on to drop game two as well 4-3.
