The Mars Hill women's lacrosse team (5-4, 1-3 SAC) was defeated by Wingate (8-2, 4-1 SAC) by a score of 21-2 Saturday afternoon.

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's lacrosse team (5-4, 1-3 SAC) was defeated by Wingate (8-2, 4-1 SAC) by a score of 21-2 Saturday afternoon.
Wingate led 14-0 entering the half with Leah Knowles scoring four goals to lead the team.
The Lions got on the board less than three minutes into the third as Haley Stallings found the back of the net. The Lions' second tally came just 25 seconds into the fourth quarter off the stick of Samantha Newton.
The Lions trio of goalies of Virginia Joy, Lauren Bryner, and Rebeca Sanchez combined to make eight saves on the day.
Mars Hill returns to action on Wednesday, March 30 when they take on Limestone. First draw control is set for 4 p.m.
