MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill volleyball team (12-1) defeated Livingstone (0-7) in straight sets (25-14, 25-15, 25-16) Tuesday night inside Stanford Arena.
The Lions' rolled through all three sets, improving their hitting percentage in each with a game-high .333 to close out the night in the third. Mars Hill's defense force 28 Livingstone errors, holding the team to a -.118 hitting percentage.
Mars Hill recorded 20 blocks on the night (1 BS, 19 BA) with Sarah Goddard collecting a game-high five block assists. Nikkayla Stewart followed with four.
Goddard led all players with 17 kills, nine digs, and hit .654 on the night. Eloise Rique led all players with 14 assists and added five digs.
Mars Hill returns to South Atlantic Conference play on Friday, September 30 when they take to the road to square off against Lenoir-Rhyne. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
