Coker Drops Sunday Series to Lincoln Memorial

Harstville, SC - The Coker University Softball Team fell to Lincoln Memorial on Sunday (April 2) in both games.

Game One:

Lincoln Memorial went up in the top of fourth inning, both teams battling defensively throughout the first three innings. With a lead of 2-0, Lincoln Memorial continued to apply pressure and brought in another five runs. This ended the game at a score of 7-0. Of the 25 at bats, Coker had a total of four hits. Out of those four hits, Brooklynn Stueness led with two. 

Tibby Hessian, Cecilia Hogel, and Hannah Fisher faced a total 37 batters. Between the three pitchers, they collected a total of two strikeouts. 

Game Two:

Unlike the beginning of the first game, Lincoln jumped on top quick and scored their first run of the game. Lincoln Memorial continued to go on an unanswered scoring streak throughout the rest of the game and added an extra four runs to their total. The game finished at a score of 0-5 for the Cobras. 

Of the 26 at bats, Coker picked up seven hits, Delaney Eaves leading with three of those. Dleaney Eaves also registered a double for the Cobras. 

Jenae Fedewa and Tibby Hessian faced a total of 36 batters, Fedewa leading with 35. Fedewa also threw 83 strikes out of 114 pitches for the day.

The Cobras will be returning to the field on Tuesday (April 4) against USC Aiken. The first pitch is set for 2:00 PM in Hartsville, SC. Live streaming and stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com
