Cobras Fall to Pioneers in Conference Play

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker women's soccer team fell 3-1 in South Atlantic Conference play on Saturday (Sept. 25) to Tusculum University. 

The Cobras got off to a hot start with sophomore Catrionna Manning recording her first collegiate goal in the fourth minute of the game. Manning settled a pass from Gabby Sturla and curled the shot around the outstretched arms of Tusculum goalkeeper Emma Harriman. 

The Pioneers would fight back to score three times in the second half and ultimately take the conference win. Cobras goalkeeper Sarah Swaim added six saves to her career total bringing it to 216. Manning and Sturla each contributed two shots, along with one shot on goal by freshman Shannon Felker

The Cobras will be back in action on Wednesday (Sept. 29) when they host South Atlantic Conference opponent Lenoir-Rhyne University. Live video and stats can be found at www.cokercobras.com.
