WISE, Va. – Carson-Newman kept the winning ways coming with a 5-0 sweep of UVA Wise on Tuesday afternoon.
Carson-Newman (4-2, 2-0 South Atlantic Conference) has yet to drop a conference point after shutting out UVA Wise (5-8, 0-3) which has now dropped eight straight matches.
"Doubles really performed great in the big moments," Carson-Newman Women's Tennis head coach Nathan Gangelhoff said. "We needed to be a little bit better in our focus at the beginning but once we did we were outstanding and our team energy was incredible."
Singles play was dominant for C-N with the Eagles outscoring the Highland Cavaliers 48-2 across the finished matches.

Doubles split the first two matches, taking the rubber match with all three pairings ending in 6-1 scores.

Carson-Newman next hits the court back at home at the Charles A. "Buddy" Catlett Tennis Complex where, as always, admission is free. The Eagles will look to go 3-0 in conference play with a clash against Lenoir-Rhyne on Thursday, March 13 at 11 a.m.
