
Sabur Shines As Coker Wins On The Road At Meredith
Kaiya Saber tallies seven points on the night, with a hat trick, as the Cobras earn their first game of the year.
Raleigh, NC. - Kaiya Sabur became the first player since 2021 to record seven points in a match, as Coker cruised to their first win of the season 5-0 over Meredith. The Cobras ripped a school record 53 shots, 33 of which were on goal in a dominating performance Tuesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Kaiya Sabur opened the scoring for Coker Tuesday night when she put her first goal of the evening into the back of the net nine minutes in.
In the 12th minute Sabur added a second goal to give the Cobras a two goal lead after one quarter complete.
The Cobras were stout all night on defense, holding the Avenging Angels in check, as the Coker offense exploded on the scene.
At the half, Coker reigsterd 26 shots with 15 being on goal, while Sabur scored the two lone goals.
One minute into the second half Florine Tillemans depoisted a goal into the back of the net to give Coker a 3-0 lead.
Sabur finished her hat trick ten minutes later, when she gave Coker a 4-0 lead. In the 43rd minute, Tillemans added her second of the night on an assist from Sabur to cap of the Coker scoring.
Goalie, Zahire Ferreyra saved all three shots she saw on the night, holding Meredith scoreless.
Six Cobras registered five shots or more on the night with Tillemans and Sabur each reaching double digit shots.
Coker put up eye dropping numbers in mulitple categoires, the first being outshooting the Avenging Angels 53-5.
