Turnovers Catch Up with Trojans at Tusculum; 65-51

Greeneville, Tenn.- The Anderson University women's basketball team could not overcome 24 turnovers that resulted in 25 points as the Trojans dropped a road contest against South Atlantic Conference opponent Tusculum; 65-51, Wednesday evening at Pioneer Arena.

With the loss, Anderson drops to 14-5 overall and 11-4 in the league while Tusculum improves to 5-14 overall and 4-11 in the conference action.

The Trojans only placed one in double-digits with freshman Alex Mollenhauer's 18 points. Senior Jasmine Franklin grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds for the Trojans in the losing effort.

Capping off the Black and Gold's scoring was senior Heather Jankowy(9), Madison Baggett(6), Erika Martin(4), Kaylee Koerperich(4), Jasmine Raynor(3), Sara Goble(3) and Jasmine Franklin(2).

Tusculum placed three in double figures with forward Kasey Johnson's team-high 17 points. Forward Jasmine Queen scored a career-high 14 points while guard Sydney Wilson chipped in 12 points for the Pioneers.

The Trojans led for the first 2:07 when Tusculum took a 7-5 lead. The Pioneers never looked back capitalizing on 24 Black and Gold miscues.

Head Coach Jonathon Barbaree's Thoughts: "Defensively we did not come ready to play in the first half. That's my responsibility and it won't happen again. Offensively the shots were not falling and we did not value the basketball."

-The Pioneers snapped an 11 game win streak... the last time that Tusculum defeated the Trojans was on Jan. 18, 2012.
-Tusculum took advantage of 24 turnovers, converting the miscues into 25 points.
-First loss for the Trojans this season when outrebounding their opponent, 48-26.
