
MARS HILL, N.C. – The Emory & Henry University Men's Lacrosse Team (0-9, 0-3 SAC) dropped a South Atlantic Conference tilt to Mars Hill University (7-3, 3-1 SAC) on the road Wednesday evening. The Lions roared out to a 17-0 halftime advantage on their way to the 25-3 victory.

How It Happened
- Mars Hill wasted no time jumping ahead as they exploded for 11 goals in the opening period of play. The Lions would go on to add six more scores in the second stanza for the 17-0 halftime lead.
- MHU scored first in the second half, but the Wasps broke up the run at the 9:21 mark when freshman defender Kyle Dyott (Easton, Md.) recorded his first collegiate goal to get E&H on the board and make it 18-1. After another Lions goal, Dyott struck again at the 4:10 mark with his second unassisted tally of the evening. Mars Hill would make it 20-2, but the Wasps had the final say of the period when Dyott found freshman attacker Collin Shell (Blountville, Tenn.) who beat the goalie on the man-up advantage to reduce the deficit to 20-3. MHU would go on to add five more goals in the final period for the 25-3 final score.
Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Dyott finished with two goals, one assist and a pair of ground balls for E&H. Freshman attacker David Mewes (Greenville, S.C.) had seven shots, three on goal, and added five ground balls.
- Freshman faceoff Jaxon Blackshear (Hedgesville, W.Va.) recorded a game-high 11 ground balls and caused one turnover while freshman defender Isaiah Ward (Fredericksburg, Va.) collected three ground balls and caused a turnover.
- Freshman goalies Mason Buttery (Carmel, Ind.) and Julian Pantoja (Vinton, Va.) combined for 13 saves in between the pipes for the Wasps.
Mars Hill Individual Leaders
- Luke Moore had a game-high five goals and added two assists while Jason McCallion went for four goals, one assist and a pair of ground balls. Sam Arendt, Brandon Woodward and Cross McKinney all finished with three goals for the Lions.
- Shane Hecht, Xavier Wells and Truxton Reynolds split time in goal as they finished with 12 total saves.
