Men’s Soccer Drops Opener to Lenoir-Rhyne

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker University men's soccer team fell to Lenoir-Rhyne University by a score of 2-0 at home on Thursday (Feb. 25).

 

Coker held Lenoir-Rhyne in check in the first half, as the teams went into the halftime break knotted up at 0-0. 

 

However, the Bears struck early in the second half, as Victor Cascon scored in the 54th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Lenoir-Rhyne would score again in the 59th minute to secure the Bears 2-0 win.

 

Luca Leonini led the team with three shots, Alexandros Doulos and Gustavo Palmieri also recorded two shots for the Cobras. In goal, Guillermo Falo Ejea recorded two saves.

 

Coker returns to action on Thursday (Mar. 7) as they travel to Salisbury, N.C. to take on Catawba College. Kick-off is set for 6:30 p.m., with video and live stats available at www.cokercobras.com
