The Mars Hill volleyball team (7-1) completed the weekend sweep, going 4-0 by taking down Lees-McRae (2-5) and Emory & Henry (2-4) in straight sets on Saturday.

GAME ONE: MHU 3, LMC 0
Mars Hill opened day two with a sweep (25-9, 25-18, 25-16) over Lees-McRae for their sixth win of the season.
Sarah Goddard led all players with 13 kills as Jana Cuk added nine. Nikkayla Stewart hit a team-high .444 with four kills on nine attempts while also leading all players with one solo block and three block assists. Jordan Schmucker led all players with 21 assists.
Mars Hill hit .262 as a team with their best effort coming in the third set as they hit .333. Lees-McRae did not have a positive hitting percentage until the third set, .057.

The Lion defense took charge in the their weekend finale versus the Wasps, accumulating 20 block assists and forcing Emory & Henry to hit -.027.
The trio of Sarah Goddard, Jana Cuk, and Nikkayla Stewart each recorded five block assists while Jordan Schmucker came up with three and Kelly Jakaitis with two.
The Lions also matched their season-high with eight service aces as Cuk accounted for four of them. Grace Lilly led the charge offensively, knocking down 10 kills and hitting .429.
With their victory, the Lions ended the tournament with a 4-0 record on the weekend and have won their last six, not surrendering one set during that run.
