ANDERSON, S.C. – Carson-Newman Women's Tennis began its final road trip of the season with a convincing win against Anderson.
No. 47 Carson-Newman (13-4, 9-2 South Atlantic Conference) picked up a 4-2 road decision against Anderson (17-7, 6-6 SAC) to begin the first of a back-to-back in its final road trip of the season.
Maria del Mar Sarda Marti (Barcelona, Spain) continues to be the story for the Lady Eagles as she improved to 15-0 in singles play as a member of Carson-Newman. The junior transfer from Quincy picked up a 6-1, 6-4 win on Court No. 5 to help the Eagles to victory.

The Eagles picked up the doubles point behind a 6-1 win on Court No. 3 from the pairing of Leah McBride and Andrea Aguiar.

Carson-Newman finishes the regular season on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. against No. 32 Newberry on the road. After the match against the Wolves, the Lady Eagles have a date in Sumter, S.C. for the SAC Women's Tennis Tournament. If the season ended today it would be projected to face Lenoir-Rhyne, a team it beat 4-2 in Mossy Creek earlier this season.
