Mars Hill felled by Wingate on road
The Mars Hill volleyball team (13-9, 7-8 SAC) was defeated in three sets (17-25, 17-25, 13-25) by Wingate (22-2, 14-1 SAC) on the road Friday night.

WINGATE, N.C. - The Mars Hill volleyball team (13-9, 7-8 SAC) was defeated in three sets (17-25, 17-25, 13-25) by Wingate (22-2, 14-1 SAC) on the road Friday night.
Wingate held the Lions to a .000 hitting percentage in the first set, forcing nine errors. The Bulldogs hit .344 in the first frame.
The Lions hit a team-high .150 in the second with 10 kills in the frame, but Wingate's offense built off their first set momentum, hitting .432 as a team with a match-high 17 kills. Wingate closed out the match hitting a match-high .435.
Skylar Ogden and Jada Cannon led the Lions with seven kills apiece. Katilyn Grant added six and hit a team-high .385. Jordan Schmucker posted another double-double on the year with 19 assists and 11 digs.
The Lions return to action on Saturday, November 4 when they face Catawba. First serve in Salisbury, North Carolina is set for 4 p.m.
