HARROGATE, Tenn. - The Mars Hill volleyball team (15-3, 10-3 SAC) defeated Lincoln Memorial (6-16, 4-10 SAC) in straight sets (25-20, 25-17, 25-19) Tuesday night on the road.
The Lions recorded 18 kills in the first set, hitting .269 to take the first set. Sarah Goddard recorded five kills in the frame followed by four apiece from Jada Cannon and Jana Cuk.
Goddard continued to lead the Lions' offense in the second set, recording seven kills in the frame. Mars Hill hit .211 in the set en route to a 2-0 lead.
The Lions hit a game-high .326 in the third, knocking down 18 kills on 46 swings. Cuk dominated the set, recording 10 kills on 13 swings, hitting .769.
Goddard led all players with 17 kills followed by Cuk's 16 on the night. Nikkayla Stewart hit a game-high .462 followed by Cuk's .448. Jordan Schmucker led all players with 41 assists while Cannon led all players with 21 digs.
Mars Hill returns to the court on Friday, October 21 when they face USC Aiken to kickoff the SAC/PBC Crossover. The match is set for a 4 p.m. first serve on the campus of Lincoln Memorial in Harrogate, Tennessee.
