Coker Took on the Pacers in a Wednesday Evening Match-up

Hartsville, SC- The Cobras fought hard at home as they took on USC Aiken. The Pacers had a 13-5 record coming into the game and their effective pitching and timely hits helped them take home the win against a tough outing by the Cobras. Coker dropped the close match-up (4-3).

The game was kept close by both pitchers as it was a duel on the mound between Aaron Diaz and the Pacers pitcher Derek Espinoza. Diaz threw six innings and collected six strikeouts in his outing. At the top of the third, the Pacers put runners at first and second with bunts and no-outs single into the outfield and scored a single run putting them up (1-0). Nick Leonard hit a rocket over the fence at the bottom of the bottom third scoring Adam Wilkerson and giving the Cobras the lead (1-2) who reach earlier on a single and stole second. At the top of the 6th, the Packers put runners on the bases and scored two runs putting them back in the lead. In the bottom of the 8th, the Cobras struck back getting a run in as Cameron Ferrell hit it up the middle scoring Wilkerson and cutting into the lead (4-3).
