Coker Hosted by UNC Pembroke for mid-week Match Up

Pembroke, NC - The Coker University Baseball Team fell short to the Pembroke Braves on Tuesday (April 4) by a score of 5-10.

The Braves took the Cobras up by six within the first two innings of the night. Despite a strong lead by UNC Pembroke, the Cobras continued to fight back and Adam Wilkerson scored the first run for Coker. Shortly after, Donavan Frayer scored off a wild pitch and cut Pembroke's lead down to just three. With a two run homerun, the Braves were back with a five run lead but that didn't slow down Kody Hanna. Hanna made his way home off a wild pitch while Jaylen Mack and Zack Wall crossed home plate off a single from Landon Reeves. Although good efforts from the Cobras, Pembroke posted an additional three runs to end the game.

Of the 32 at bats, Coker registered seven hits, three RBI's, and seven walks. Landon Reeves led the Cobras with two RBI's and a stolen base.

Lawson Otte and Chris Watkins both pitched against the Braves and faced a collective 41 batters. Otte threw 79 strikes out of 121 pitches while picking up five strikeouts along the way.

The Cobras will be returning to the field on Friday (April 7) against Lincoln Memorial. The first pitch is set to be thrown at 6:00 PM in Harrogate, TN. Live streaming and stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com
