
#7 Women’s Tennis cruises to 15-0 start with dominant win over MHU
Mars Hill, N.C. —- The 7th-ranked Catawba College women's tennis team rolled to its 15th straight victory to begin the 2025 campaign with a dominant 7-0 win on the road over Mars Hill to improve to 7-0 in South Atlantic Conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
DOUBLES
- Tina Gomes and Nika Dundovic rolled to a 6-0 win in the #2 doubles match
- Anna Wise and Rin Igarashi followed suit with a 6-0 win in the #3s match to help clinch the doubles point
- Lilliana Drukerova and Ami Miya led 5-0 in #1 doubles when the clinch point was reached
SINGLES
- Wise swept her way to a 6-0, 6-0 win in the #1 singles match
- Miya did the same, sweeping past the Lions' #2 singles opponent 6-0, 6-0
- Dundovic was Catawba's third to sweep past their opponent without conceding a game, winning 6-0, 6-0 in #5s
- Vaishnavi Venkatesh earned a quick 6-1, 6-0 win at the #3 singles match
- Jacy Noble picked up a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the #6 match
- Gomes earned a victory in the #4s match, 6-1, 6-0
