Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team pushed its winning streak to five in a row with a 3-0 sweep over Newberry. Tonight was both the home opener and SAC opener for the Bears who continue their torrid start to the season.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
•      Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore outside hitter Taylor Prall recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 13 digs.
•      Jaclyn Denny finished with seven kills and posted a scorching .778 hitting percentage on the evening.
•      Newberry was led by Zoe Dinkins and Toni-Anne Whitlow who each finished the match with six kills.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
•      The last time LR won its first five matches of a season was 2009 when they started on a 10-game winning streak.

UP NEXT:
Lenoir-Rhyne hits the road again when they travel to the Francis Marion Invitational this weekend. The Bears open with a rematch against UNC Pembroke on Friday at 4 p.m. LR defeated the Braves 3-2 on August 31.
