
Late Push Lifts Catawba Past Coker
Catawba outscores Coker 18-11 over the final four minutes to down the Cobras
HARTSVILLE, SC. - Coker dropped Wednesday nights contest to Catawba 93-86. The Cobras were led by senior Glenn Bynum Jr. who netted a team high 16 points, while adding two threes on the night for Coker.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Catawba jumped out to an early 4-0 lead before freshman Max Hurray, who made his first career start, drained a three to settle the Cobras in. From there the Cobras and Catawba Indians battled the first four minutes, as Catawba held a 10-9 lead at the end of the first media timeout.
The Cobras went on a small 5-0 run before the halfway mark as Landon Butler made a crafty layup, and Glenn Bynum Jr. drilled a three to give Coker a 4 point lead. Over the course of the next eight minutes the two teams traded basekt after basket with the lead growing no larger than four in either teams favor.
The last four minutes of the half it was Xavier Moultrie giving the Cobras a spark. The sophomore made two free throws, before racing back down the floor after a Catawba miss, and drained a three pointer to go on a 5-0 run by himeself. The Catawba Indians answered before the half ended, and tied the game at 46 going into the break.
At the half Coker registered a 51.4 percent clip from the field, and added six made threes on 37.5 percent shooting. The Cobras largest lead was five with a little over two minutes to go in the half, and forced the Catawba Indians into seven first half turnovers. Coker distributed the ball well, as 12 of the 18 made field goals were assisted on.
In the second frame, it was Coker racing out to an early 53-50 lead thanks to baskets from Judson Coan, Jevon Brown, and Max Hurray.
As the teams continued to battle throughout the second half, Landon Buttler and Sebastian Cole continued to make high impact plays in multiple spurts. It started with Cole's effort on the offensive glass, putting back a Coker miss, before adding another layup just seconds later. Butler then came into the game and dished out multiple assists to numerous Coker players.
As time ran down, Ian Blue sank two free throws out of a media timeout with a little less than four minutes remaining to tie the game at 77. Catawba then went on a 18-11 run, and made 9 free throws during this stetch to ultimately down Coker.
Coker finished the night shooting 44.1 percent from the field, with a 29.0 percent from behind the arc. The Cobras assisted on 19 baskets with Butler and Cole dishing out five a piece. Bynum Jr., Hurray, Jamie Muldowney, and Judson Coan all scored in double figures, with each registering two three pointers. Coker drained 17 of its 22 free throws for a 77.3 percent. The Cobras played 13 players in Wednesday nights game, as Jevon Brown scored a season high.
