How It Happened
- The Wasps wasted no time breaking through for their first goal in SAC play when sophomore midfielder Jackson Swanson (Salem, Va.) found freshman attacker Dakotah Hawkins (Roanoke, Va.) who beat the AU keeper to put E&H on top 1-0 at the 11:46 mark of the opening period. The Trojans roared back with eight goals in the first and tacked on six more in the second to take a 14-1 lead into the half.
- The visitors from Anderson continued to pour it on in the third period as they struck for 11 more tallies to push their advantage out to 25-1 heading into the final stanza. The Trojans scored the first two goals of the fourth, but E&H broke up the rally with 8:41 on the clock when Hawkins recorded his second score of the game. Anderson would go on to post the next four scores, but Hawkins had the final say of the afternoon as he completed his hat trick, the first in program history, on an unassisted goal with just over a minute remaining. The Trojans took the win by the 31-3 final margin.
