
Mars Hill falls to USC Aiken in SAC/PBC Crossover play
The Mars Hill volleyball team (15-4) was defeated in four sets (19-25, 25-23, 24-26, 19-25) versus USC Aiken (14-11) in SAC/PBC Crossover action Friday afternoon.
HARROGATE, Tenn. - The Mars Hill volleyball team (15-4) was defeated in four sets (19-25, 25-23, 24-26, 19-25) versus USC Aiken (14-11) in SAC/PBC Crossover action Friday afternoon.
The Pacers knocked down 16 kills in the first set, hitting .184 in the frame. Mars Hill responded in the second, hitting .118 and taking the second by a score of 25-23.
USC Aiken recorded a game-high 17 kills in the third despite the Lions hitting a game-high .367. to go up 2-1. The Pacers then hit a team-high .297 in the fourth set to close out the win.
Sadie McKay posted a game-high 16 kills followed by Anna Sommer's 14 on the afternoon. McKay hit .394 to lead the Pacers.
Jana Cuk led the Lions with 13 kills followed by 12 from Sarah Goddard. Jordan Schmucker posted 33 assists and 15 digs for the double-double.
The Lions return to the court on Saturday, October 22 when they face Lander at 12 p.m. and close out the SAC/PBC Crossover at 4 p.m. versus Augusta.
