
Lions rally from two down, defeat Catawba
The Mars Hill volleyball team (18-9, 7-7 SAC) rallied to defeat Catawba (9-11, 6-8 SAC) in five sets (23-25, 27-29, 25-15, 25-15, 15-13) Saturday night inside Chambers Gymnasium.
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill volleyball team (18-9, 7-7 SAC) rallied to defeat Catawba (9-11, 6-8 SAC) in five sets (23-25, 27-29, 25-15, 25-15, 15-13) Saturday night inside Chambers Gymnasium.
The Lions dropped the first two sets, but answered back in the third and fourth by taking both 25-15. Mars Hill, in the fifth, trailed 13-10 before a kill from Kelly Jakaitis became the catalyst for a Mars Hill 5-0 run to sweep the season series against the Indians. Grace Lilly recorded two kills during the run.
Mars Hill outhit Catawba .155 to .097 on the night and racked up 124 digs to the Indian's 121.
